CREDIT PACKS

Or buy credits once, and spend them slowly

Packs cost more per credit than a plan, and the reason is on the label: they last twelve months, where plan credits expire at the end of the month they are granted. The premium buys shelf life, not extras.

  • $29.90 once

    800 credits · ≈ 133 standard images

Good for twelve months. No Think mode, no 2K, no private generations, no batch.

  • $29.90 a month

    2,400 credits · ≈ 400 standard images

Plus Think mode, Ultra and 2K, private generations and four jobs at once.

Same price. The plan gives you three times the credits — the pack gives you time instead.

  • Large pack

    $79.90one-time

    2,400 credits

Exactly one month of Pro — which costs $29.90

≈ 400 standard images (or 100 at HD)

    Good for 12 months

Plan credits are always spent first, so the ones with a deadline go before the ones without. Subscribers get 10% extra credits on every pack.

WHAT PAYING CHANGES

Four things the free image can’t do

Everything else — the real gpt-image-2.5, the model ID on your result, and not paying for failed runs — you get on the free tier too. These are the four that need a plan.

  • A nine-up poster grid delivered with no visible corner mark on a paid plan

    Watermark

Free images carry a small corner badge. Every paid plan removes it.

    Free: badged
  • A finished poster of the kind a paid plan licenses for commercial use

    Commercial use

Free is personal use only. Paid plans include commercial rights — publish it, sell it, bill for it — and they stay yours after you cancel.

    Free: personal only
  • A landscape rendered at native 4K, the resolution paid tiers unlock

    Resolution

Free stops at Standard, 1K. Starter reaches HD, Pro reaches Ultra and 2K, Studio reaches Max and native 4K.

    Free: 1K standard
  • A dense city-block render — the kind of job that runs first, without a captcha, on a paid plan

    The queue

Free runs last and behind a captcha. That queue position is the cost control that lets a free tier exist at all. Paid runs first, with no captcha, and up to eight at a time.

    Free: last in line

No plan gates the model itself. A free image and a Studio image come from the same gpt-image-2.5.

AGAINST THE ALTERNATIVES

Four ways to get a GPT Image 2.5 image, priced the same way. The raw API is the cheapest of them and it is in the table rather than left out — the question the other three columns answer is what it costs you in work. Measured 2026-09-09.

The second column is a competing GPT Image 2.5 site’s published plan on 2026-09-09: $24 a month yearly, 900 credits, 5 credits an image. It is left unnamed on purpose — the figure is checkable, and naming a rival adds risk without adding evidence. ChatGPT does not sell images individually or publish a per-image rate. The API column assumes you have OpenAI organization verification and your own queue, storage and front end.

On 2026-09-09 several sites ranking for “gpt image 2.5” were still serving GPT Image 2, or showed a Coming Soon button over a generator that did not run.

PRIVACY AND PAYMENT

Your images, your business

Two questions people ask before they pay, answered before they have to ask: whether you can use these images commercially, and what happens to the ones you have already made if you stop paying. Both answers are below in full, and neither of them has an asterisk on it.

What happens to your images

  • Private by default on Pro

Your generations are not shown in any gallery and are not public. Free and Starter images stay unlisted too — we just do not guarantee it in writing.

  • We do not train on your images

Not us, and OpenAI’s API does not train on API inputs by default either.

  • Delete anything, anytime

One click per image, or wipe the account. Deletion is immediate.

How you pay, and what “no watermark” means

  • Cards and wallets, including UnionPay, Alipay and WeChat Pay

Visa, Mastercard, Amex, Discover, JCB, UnionPay, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Link, SEPA, Alipay and WeChat Pay, in 20+ currencies.

  • Tax handled at checkout

Processed by Stripe and Creem. Creem is our merchant of record, so local VAT and sales tax are calculated and filed for you.

  • About that invisible watermark

OpenAI embeds C2PA metadata and an invisible watermark in every image this model produces. Every provider’s output carries it and nobody can strip it. When we say “no watermark”, we mean we do not stamp our own logo on your picture.

The corner badge on free images is ours and comes off on any paid plan. The C2PA signal is OpenAI’s and does not.

RISK REVERSED

The exits, written down

How to leave, written down before you join. Cancel any time from the billing page and keep the credits you have already bought; nothing expires because you stopped subscribing. This is the section most pricing pages bury three clicks deep, which is exactly why it is the last thing here before you decide.

How a refund works

First subscription or first top-up pack. Once per account.

  1. You pay

You subscribe, or buy a top-up pack.

  2. Within 7 days

You decide it is not for you.

  3. Credits untouched

The credits from that payment are still unspent.

  4. Money back

No reason needed. In full as account credit, or to the card less the processing fees our processor keeps.

If a run fails

Every plan, including the free image. No ticket, no email.

  1. The run fails

It errors, times out, or is blocked by moderation.

  2. Credits come back

Automatically. The job shows no credits were used.

The one condition

Ask within 7 days, while those credits are untouched or under 50 spent. Fifty credits is about eight standard images — enough to judge the quality, and about eleven cents of exposure for us.

  • Refund window

    7 days from first payment

  • Credits spent and still refundable

    Up to 50

  • How to ask

One email, no form, no retention call

  • Refunded to

    Your original payment method

  • A failed run

    0 credits, every plan

  • Cancelling

Two clicks, runs to end of period

  • Images you already made

    Yours commercially, forever

  • If we raise prices

Your rate is locked while subscribed

Plan credits expire at the end of the month they are granted; pack credits last twelve months. Cancelling does not claw back anything you already made.

BILLING RULES

What the GPT Image 2.5 price buys, and when credits go away

Every rule about credits in one place, including the ones that are not in our favour. What a credit buys, when a run is free because it failed, what happens to a monthly allowance you did not spend, and which balance is drawn down first. If a rule is not here, it is not a rule we enforce.

What a run costs

Fixed table, no surge pricing, no per-account variation.

  1. A standard 1024×1024 image

6 credits. Draft is 3, HD is 24, Ultra is 42, Max is 96.

  2. Bigger sizes

2K doubles the credits, 4K triples them. The full grid is in the cost table below.

  3. Editing or image-to-image

+4 credits, which covers up to four reference images. Extras are 3 credits each — OpenAI bills image input on top of the output it returns.

  4. Think mode (Sunburst)

The same price as Fast. Both models bill at $30 per million image output tokens, so the quality model is slower, not dearer.

  5. A blocked or failed run

0 credits. Timeouts, moderation blocks and our own errors are all free, on every plan.

When credits arrive and expire

The part worth reading twice, because it is the one that surprises people.

  1. Plan credits

Granted monthly and spent within that month. They expire at the end of the month they are granted — they do not carry forward.

  2. Pack credits

Last twelve months from purchase. That shelf life is what the higher per-credit price buys.

  3. Spend order

Plan credits first, then packs, so the credits with a deadline always go before the ones without.

  4. The signup gift

Registering adds credits valid for 30 days, and a daily check-in adds more on top.

  5. Async batch jobs

Cost 30% fewer credits on Pro and 50% fewer on Studio, because OpenAI’s Batch tier costs us half and there is no reason to keep the difference.

If any of this is not what happened to your account, that is a bug and we will fix the balance.

COST PER IMAGE

How much does GPT Image 2.5 cost per image?

OpenAI bills GPT Image 2.5 by token rather than by image, which is why almost nobody answers this directly. We measured every tier. Both gpt-image-2.5-flare and gpt-image-2.5-sunburst are billed at the same rate — $30 per million image output tokens.

Yes, the raw API is cheaper than we are. It is also an OpenAI organization verification, an async job queue, a two-minute timeout, storage, retries and a front end. If you already have all of that, use the API — we publish these numbers precisely so you can decide. Figures come from OpenAI’s own estimator and are recalibrated against live response.usage data.

PRICING FAQ

GPT Image 2.5 pricing: the twelve questions people ask

How much does GPT Image 2.5 cost per image?

About $0.013 at the raw API for a 1024×1024 Standard image, $0.053 at HD and $0.211 at Max. On our Pro plan you pay $0.075 for a Standard image and $0.299 for HD, which includes the queue, storage, retries and the editing tools. The full table is above.

Is GPT Image 2.5 free?

Your first image here is free with no account and no card. After that, signing up adds 30 credits and a daily check-in adds 6 more — roughly 35 standard images a month, at no cost, ongoing. Free images are personal use only and carry a small corner badge.

What is the difference between the plans?

Three things: how many credits you get, how high the ceiling goes on quality, resolution and jobs at once, and whether you can use Think mode and Keep-Intact editing. Every plan runs the same real gpt-image-2.5.

How do credits work?

A standard 1024×1024 image is 6 credits. Higher quality and bigger sizes cost more, on a fixed table you can read above. Plan credits expire at the end of the month they are granted. Pack credits last twelve months, and plan credits are always spent first.

Why are one-time credit packs more expensive than a plan?

Because of shelf life. $29.90 buys 800 credits as a pack that lasts twelve months, or 2,400 credits a month as a Pro plan that has to be spent that month. If you generate every month, subscribe. If you need a one-off burst, buy a pack.

Can I use the images commercially?

Yes, on every paid plan — publish, sell, print, use them in client work. That stays true after you cancel. Free-plan images are personal use only.

Do you add a watermark?

Not on paid plans. Free images get a small corner badge. Separately, OpenAI embeds C2PA metadata and an invisible watermark in every image from this model — that is in every provider’s output and cannot be removed by anyone.

What happens if a generation fails or gets blocked?

You are not charged. Timeouts, moderation blocks and our own errors all cost 0 credits, on every plan including the free one.

Can I choose between Flare and Sunburst?

Yes, from Pro up — we call them Fast and Think. Neither ChatGPT nor Codex lets you pick, which is one of the main reasons people reach for the API instead.

Can I cancel or get a refund?

Cancel in two clicks, any time; your plan runs out the period you paid for. A first payment is refundable within 7 days as long as you have spent under 50 credits.

Do prices include tax?

No. VAT and local sales tax are calculated at checkout. Creem acts as merchant of record and handles the filing.

Is this an official OpenAI product?

No. This is an independent product built on OpenAI’s public API. We are not affiliated with OpenAI, and we say so on every page.

Something not answered here? Ask us — the reply comes from a person.

Start with one free image. Decide after.

No card, no account — generate one image on the real gpt-image-2.5 and read the model ID off the result. If it is good, plans start at $19.90 a month with a 7-day refund.
